Valentines Drive
“Laurence Saupe and his band of volunteers again came up Trumps on 12 February 2006 with their excellent arrangements and hospitality for an enjoyable drive through Horton country park much enjoyed by all who took part”
Loseley House May Day Meet – organised by Gail Brownrigg
“On Monday the 1st of May 2006, member taking part the Loseley meet maintained the tradition of taking the vehicles from the coach house at the start of the summer season and decorating them with spring flowers for their first drive. On their return from the drive around Loseley estate the turnouts were awarded their prises by children from the Chase hospice who benefited from this event.”
Whitleley Village Spring Drive
“Whiteley village spring drive was held on Sunday 21st May in clement weather but did not detract from the beauty of Bluebells and the Rhododendrons nor the enthusiasm of those braving the weather. After a keenly fought competition of presentation, paces, artistic impression and gamblers cones Lyn Hamill driving 11.1 hand Chantilly won the overall competition with Ken Russell second and Margaret Hill Venning third. The junior class was won by Joe Weaver and Jack. Thanks to the Whiteley Village Homes Trust for their kind permission for us to stage this event in their beautiful village.”

Surrey Area Show
“Surrey members celebrated the 21st area show on Sunday 9th July with large classes coming forward with the judges Richard Lanni and Richard James commenting on the high standard of both traditional and non-traditional turnouts and driving which Surrey members could be proud. The overall champion was June Hommers’ Atherton Prince driven by Gary Docking with the reserve champion Clive Fountains Regency Rocky Boy to a milk float. It was particularly pleasing to see the large exercise and pleasure classes which the judges decided to split in order that everyone had a fair chance to show their animals to their best potential. See results page and photographs. (link to this)”
We look forward to welcoming all BDS members and friends to our events through the year, so whether you have a turnout or not please try to come along and join us.
